What is ZOOM ASTRONOMY TALK?

My lack of originality in naming this is profound, but I wanted people to understand the platform and the subject. It is astronomy talk and we use the software platform named ZOOM.

So what is my reason and vision for this project? First, how nice is it to live in an era where we can video conference in large groups from the convenience of home? Using technology, we can link up from anywhere in the world, share a pitch deck on screen, compare images, talk about events, and teach each other and learn together.

This hobby is all about sharing and learning from each other. I think sometimes we get a little up on things because we deal with the universe, but at the end of it all, we are space tourists. We are nature lovers partaking in nature’s most-grand adventure.

My objective with his is to fill in that time between observing sessions, and to give a platform to others to learn and ask questions as well. There is nothing stopping us from doing astrophotography workshops, sharing live sessions under the sky, or even tying in to remote locations for special events such as solar and lunar eclipses and star parties in other lands.

Giving experts and vendors a platform to teach us is valuable. Bringing us all together allows for higher questioning to take place and lead us to questions that we may not consider in isolation. Just imagine an opportunity to bring a vendor on, product in hand, and talk about exactly how to use it while we watch?

I will never run out of topics, but I can use some help in finding guests that you want to hear from. I have a list of vendors and experts to draw on, and the prospect to meet even more as we evolve this experience.
